synopsis:

In a future where the sun has burned out, the world is a frozen wasteland, and survival is dictated by perpetuating brutal systems of control: love is outlawed. Inside the killing beds of a slaughterhouse that doubles as a brothel, Walker, a hardened overseer wrapped in fur, rules with a complex mix of cruelty and care for her cold-chain-girls, most especially Iris, whose latest defiance is one of the heart for the electrician, Johann. Meanwhile, Ruina and Paige wrestle with a forbidden love of their own, while Penny, the youngest of the women, remains determined to accomplish what everyone believes impossible: growing a garden. As whispers of rebellion and the stories they've been told of this new world begin to fracture, the women must decide if survival is enough or if another world is possible.​​
